| ON-SITE LAB / GETTING YOUR FULL VALUE Our on site lab enables us to provide raid, accurate eyeglass service. We are committed to using only the highest quality lens and coatings worked on by skilled, experienced opticians. Our state of the art patternless edger enables our optician to accurately cut and assemble even the most difficult jobs, with a perfectly sized and shaped lens. Lenses are inspected at least 3 times before they are dispensed to a patient, with a final inspection performed by a person other than the one who cut and assembled the job.
Two factors are critical in providing optimal vision with prescription eyeglass lenses: (1) the optical quality of the lens (2) precision placement of the lens in the frame.
High diopter and unusual prescriptions must be custom made at surfacing labs. Commitment to quality varies greatly, and we use only the best labs. Money saved by using "cut rate" labs is not worth the aggravation of dealing with delays needed to reorder less than acceptable work. It is well worth the extra money spent for a quality lab to insure the rapid, accurate supply of high precision prescription lenses. These are the same labs that can be counted on to consistently supply lenses quickly when needed for emergency service.
When comparing lens prices, make sure you are really comparing "apples to apples." Opticians using less than optimal materials or coating are unlikely to admit this, but common sense dictates that prices quoted at significantly less than the quality optical shops, are generally using less expensive, lower quality lenses. Profits are enhanced at these establishments by using less experienced labor, and by having lower standards of inspection, reducing the lens remake rate.
The best quality lens is only as good as the workmanship and accuracy with which it is placed into the frame. In some cases, margins of as little as 1 degree or 1 millimeter may be enough to reduce the desired effect of the prescription. |
